The Problem With B00BIES...

...is that they're all over DA

Let me get one thing sparklingly clear; I do not have a problem with naked bodies, never have and never will. I think that boobs are wonderful and am not offended by naked people in the slightest. Some of the best photographs I have ever seen are indeed nudes, and I even hope to do some myself in the future.

...so what's with this journal then you ask?

Well, although the brilliant female form has always graced the pages of Deviantart in all of it's glory, there seems to be a worrying trend on the rise. More and more frequently I am happily scrolling the front pages when I am bombarded with pictures of naked women often taken by themselves with a cameraphone and a mirror, or by some horny guy during his stroll on the beach. It's these kind of photographs that are frankly ripping out the heart and soul of Deviantart and taking a 2-Girls-1-Cup dump on it.

It's been said many times before and I will say it again; this is Deviant ART not DeviantPorn or DeviantSpace. The very premise of this site is too showcase the talent and work of the creative community by uploading images that have required thought, talent or have some kind of artistic merit. Now said girls are indeed very beautiful, but for me a snap of some teen flaunting her bazookas does not really qualify as artistic.

I'm not condemning these sorts of pictures either; they have their place in the World - but DeviantArt isn't it.

Now I'm not going to point fingers here, if you want to see what is that I'm talking about, just scroll through recent popular pictures and you can judge for yourself.

I completely agree with you. The same goes for men, too. There can be artistic male nude photos, but I rarely see any :/ If I ever stumble on any, it just seems to be some guy taking a picture of his peenor to show off.

Those nude photos you've posted are gorgeous, though *o* Thank you for posting them. It's so hard to find good artistic nudes sometimes. ^_^

just read this from your profile page which i got link to from the derby forum.

And frankly i 100% agree with what your saying =] not much else i can say on the matter really, some people are ruining the artistic potentiality of nudes , be it male or female, by posting these really... non artistic photos.

Thankyou for your comment, I am really pleased that people seem to hold the same view. It is very frustrating knowing that the reason those unartistic pictures are on the front pages so often is because of the alarming amount of favourites they receive; so anybody that agrees with my journal is restoring my faith in the human race a chunk at a time

I completely agree with you. The people taking pictures like that using DeviantArt as another MySpace/porn site should have their bee-hinds kicked off the site. >_<

Gah I so know what you mean stuff like that is so annoying. Okay I will admit I have taken the odd random cameraphone pic of myself for DA but thats been for IDs mostly and not nekkid >_<

Something that does annoy me though is when people take artistic nude shots and then put censor tags over the boobs and stuff I mean fair enough give people a warning but taking it out on photoshop kinda ruins the point of the pic. It's artsitc NUDE not artistic covered up naked bits. Yeah sorry it kinda annoys me. Saying that though I wanna do some AN photos myself the only problem I have though is some horny prick is gna find it and use it to jerk off to even though that is not the point of the pic or I'll get comments like OMG BOOBS!!1111!!!
